Shellie is a Child and Youth Clinician in good standing with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counsellors (OACYC). She is also a Certified Equine Assisted Therapist through the Horse Therapy Centre of Canada (HTCC) and is a member in good standing with the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association. Supervision provides clients the option to utilize OAP funding, along with most private insurance companies that provide coverage for her services. (Social Worker or Counsellor)

Shellie has over 20 years of experience working at Humber River Hospital as a Child and Youth Counsellor on the Child Adolescent Mental Health Crisis Unit. She is currently still employed as a casual staff member after relocating to Haliburton. Her extensive work supports high-risk clients of various ages and abilities. Shellie’s experiences encompass both the inpatient and outpatient units along with section 23 transition classrooms and her private practice.

Shellie herself has autism and ADHD. Her interest in neurodiversity led her to pursue formal training through her Postgraduate Studies in Autism and Behavioural Science.

Shellie also served as a Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) Trainer, facilitating training for staff at the Toronto District School Board for many years.

Recently, Shellie completed the Compassionate Inquiry Professional Training under the guidance of Gabor Mante. This intensive graduate-level program taught Shellie how to approach trauma with compassion, respect, acceptance, insight, healing, freedom, and connection.

Shellie provides Child and Youth Counselling services to individuals experiencing the effects of trauma, behavioural, social, and life skills deficits, mental health challenges, or intellectual or developmental disabilities.
